A woman holds a poster arguing a shoot in the head is not a mistake, during the “march for peace” at Rio de Janeiro’s Alemao favela on April 4, 2015 to protest against the death of a ten-year-old boy shot dead by the Brazilian police during a confrontation with drug traffickers two days ago. The child’s killing in Rio’s sprawling Alemao favela triggered angry protests on Friday which saw violent clashes with police and which have renewed security concerns ahead of next year’s Olympics. Several hundred demonstrators turned out again on Saturday carrying white placards demanding an end to violence and a withdrawal of police from the favelas. Four people have died and three more have been wounded in a little over 24 hours of violence in Rio. AFP PHOTO / CHRISTOPHE SIMON
