SERBIA-HUNGARY-EUROPE-MIGRANTS

A Serbian border police officer finds a group of illegal immigrants from Syria near a railroad close to the border with Hungary, 30 kms east of Subotica, on June 25, 2015. Hungary said it has indefinitely suspended the application of a key EU asylum rule in order “protect Hungarian interests”, prompting Brussels to seek immediate clarification. Illegal immigrants cross Serbia on their way to other European countries as it has land access to three members of the 28-nation bloc — Romania, Hungary and Croatia. The number of immigrants entering Hungary rose from 2,000 in 2012 to 54,000 this year so far. According to official figures, 95 percent of them arrive from Serbia. AFP PHOTO / ANDREJ ISAKOVIC
