Seven venezuelan nationals are in police custody after they were held on a vessel one mile off the coast of Cedros.

Loop News was told that at about 10.15am yesterday, Inceptor Vessel 019, with members of the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard Leading Seaman Rambally, Ordinary Seaman Joseph, Ordinary Seaman Hackshaw, Electrician Eastman on board, observed a vessel on the waters with several occupants.
The vessel was intercepted and it was discovered to be carrying seven Venezuelan nationals, including a 19-year-old woman and a two-year-old girl.
None of the occupants of the vessel was able to produce any documents indicating legal entry and as such, they were detained and handed over to officials from the Immigration Division, led by Officer Savitri Singh.
